Hensel had some great new items to launch for PhotoPlus Expo in New York this year as well as some older items that photographers were really excited about. John Harrington of Photo Business News & Forum stopped by our booth to interview Sharon Gottula of Image Light Group, Inc. about what was new. You can see the video here.
We had the head of Hensel Germany, Joachim Renschke, join us in New York as well as our newest member of Hensel USA, Lou Pardo who is the East Coast Representative. Lou has been in the photo sales business for over 25 years in California and has recently moved to the East Coast. So join us in welcoming him aboard.
New Products:
Lightbar 130

A solid strobe head that works with the Tria, Vela and with a pigtail adapter the ProMini and the Porty. I can’t wait to try this out on location! The light source measures approximately 58” long by about 8” wide. The front is a curved plexi with multiple flash tubes and modeling lights that create an even glow and the removable metal barn doors gives ultimate control over the width of the lighting. More specs will be listed soon.
The Speed Head for the Porty and ProMini 1200
We have a new head in a Porty and Mini version that has a flash duration of 1/1500th of a second at full power (1200 w) and 1/5000th of a second at lowest power. A lot of location photographers seemed very interested in this for stopping action. Especially in the equine and animal photography industry. We even had photographers from the Smithsonian Zoo take a look.
Once we get all of the technical information these will be listed on the product pages so visit henselusa.com for more information in the coming days.
Not so new but, interesting:
Octa Sun Haze RF90

This invention had a lot of people talking even thought it has been around for a couple of years. A softbox for the Hensel ringlight. The photographer can modify the specular qualities of the ringlight with precision and control. The 2 diffusion baffles come off separately and the box can be used alone as a huge ringlight source.
Strobe Wizard Plus
Hensel’s built in receiver for the Hensel Strobe Wizard created quite a buzz once photographer’s realized that you can power the light up or down from the camera, as well as switch the modeling lamp modes from Full, Proportional or Off. Hensel has built the receiver into the Integra Pro Plus units, the Porty Premium Plus and the Pro Mini 1200.
Thanks to all of you who dropped by the booth to give us your insight, feedback and accolades.
